A proud resident of Moreno Valley since she was 5 years old, and former VVUSD student herself (El Potrero, Victoriano, and Vista Verde), Adriana Vargas is a Spanish Teacher and Instructional Coach here at RVHS . While most of her duties involve teacher and instructional support, the ultimate objective is to find, model, and curate resources and strategies to help teachers create the most effective learning environment for our students. If she is not in her office organizing meetings and professional development opportunities for teachers, or at a conference or training, she is most likely in and out of classrooms or around campus helping where needed.

Her educational background includes two Bachelor Degrees from UCR in 2007 in Psychology and another in Spanish (Linguistics Focus), a Teaching Credential from University of Redlands, and a Master’s Degree in Spanish Literature from Universidad de Alcalá de Henares in Madrid, Spain in 2009. In addition to being an Instructional Coach for our teachers, she is also our Pre-AP Coordinator and National Leadership Faculty with Collegeboard. She oversees all Pre-AP courses, orders, training, and implementation of Pre-AP frameworks for Algebra 1, Biology, English 1, and Geometry.  She is trained in Kagan, AVID, EduProtocols, and TPRS teaching strategies and structures.   She was the 2022 recipient of a Kagan Scholarship for Instructional Coaches, as well as a 2022  finalist for Riverside County Site Support Employee of the Year.

In her free time, Ms. Vargas loves to travel and spend time with her family. As a Global Education Ambassador for EF tours (a student travel company that operates independently from VVUSD),  she organizes summer trips for students and families to visit Spain, Italy, France, Greece, and Costa Rica. When she is not globetrotting, she is at home with her husband Sergio, who also is an employee of VVUSD and with her children, who are also students within our district! She  enjoys salsa dancing, eating healthy, and working out. Follow Ms. Vargas on Social Media as she highlights our amazing teachers and learning happening all over campus.

Since the 2015 school year, Mrs. Presser has served at Rancho Verde teaching Photography, AP Art & Design, and Yearbook. In addition to working with students, she has also worked closely with her colleagues, serving as VAPA Department Chair, helping to facilitate Professional Development opportunities at both the site and district levels, and also supporting new teachers as an Induction Coach.

After graduating from UC Riverside with a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology, Mrs. Presser worked for the Riverside Art Museum’s Youth Education Department, coordinating and instructing K-8 art classes through their Art-to-Go and First Sundays programs. During that time she met Mr. Presser, who was already teaching at Rancho and encouraged her to get her teaching credential. A few years later, she graduated from Cal Baptist University with a Single Subject Credential in Social Science, later adding her Art authorization, and a Master’s Degree in Education with a Specialization in Teaching.

Mrs. Presser started her career at Rancho (it truly is home!) and is excited to serve in a new capacity, supporting teachers as an Instructional Coach.  In her free time, Mrs. Presser enjoys traveling, going to the movies, cooking and eating new foods, and lounging at home with her husband, cat (Harry), and corgi (Sheba).
